Torc Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall located in the Killarney National Park in County Kerry, Ireland. It’s one of the most popular attractions in Killarney, and for good reason. The waterfall is situated at the base of Torc Mountain, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Visitors can enjoy a walk through the beautiful forest trails that lead to the waterfall, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and photographers.
If you’re visiting after a period of heavy rain, you’re in for a treat as the waterfall will be at its most impressive.
Torc Waterfall is located about 7km from the town of Killarney, and very close to Muckross Park. You can easily get there by car, bicycle or on foot. If you’re coming from Killarney town, you can take the N71 towards Kenmare and turn left at the sign for Torc Waterfall. There’s a car park at the entrance to the waterfall, and it’s free of charge.
However, the reccomeneded way to visit the waterfall is to walk there on the guided footpaths:
- Park your car at the Killarney National Park car park near the Muckross House and Gardens.
- Follow the signs for the Torc Waterfall trailhead. The trailhead is located near Muckross House.
The trail follows a winding path through the forest, and you’ll pass by several scenic spots along the way. After about an hour of walking, you’ll reach Torc Waterfall. If you choose, You can then do the Torc Mountain Hike, or the looped walk around Muckross lake.
